★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great read even on its own.
One of the best books of the series. It shows how women, especially a bi-racial woman, could be such an influence in the Civil War instead of just letting the men make all of the decisions for her. Very strong powerful character. Great role model for women and girls. Great read even on its own.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the old south
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was well written and believable. The plot was easy and simple and I felt as if i would have had the same dilemma as Rachel

Very interesting way to learn about the way the North and South viewed slavery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Civil War Struggle
A unique combination of “I Spy” and “Jezebel”, and patently *not* in the Antebellum era of the South, “A Spy’s Eyes” picks up *during* the Civil War, with a new cast of characters, each one with their own personal struggle. The story delves into the relatively unknown and dark world of a spy in the Civil War. The main character, Rachel (herself a combination of black and white) finds that life challenging.
